DAVID BISHOP SKILLMAN LIBRARY
This award-winning renovation and expansion transformed a 1960s academic library into a vibrant center for social and intellectual life at Lafayette College. The 105,000-square-foot library creates an innovative model for information services at the core of campus and offers facilities for group study, a café, a gallery, a special events room, and informal meeting spaces. Additions are clad in copper and fieldstone and a glass curtain wall and windows frame views of the central quad.
The David Bishop Skillman Library renovation and addition received an AIA / ALA Library Building Award, an AIA Interior Architecture Award, a BSA Honor Award, and a BSA Education Facilities Award.
