The award-winning new Center for Art and Education offers the Shelburne Museum a dynamic year-round space for exhibition, events and educational programs. The 17,000 sf Center has two very different orientations. The west side is one-storied and features a long welcoming cedar-lined porch with vistas of the campus and distant Adirondacks. The east side is two-storied with large expanses of glass, announcing the Museum to passersby on Vermont’s busy Route 7. The building’s two programmatic elements— the exhibition galleries to the south and education spaces to the north – are interlocked by a light-filled lobby. This project is LEED Silver certified.
